Question about smoking at place of employment?
If you sell tobacco at your place of employment, and there are no no smoking signs up anywhere in the store, can your manager legally tell you to not smoke inside the store? Customers frequently come in the store smoking, and if they can the employees should be able to also, is that correct? Also, there had been some customers not liking the idea of the employees smoking inside and waiting on the customers. The employer has no cameras at all, and while I admit myself or others shouldn't smoke and wait on the customers at the same time, the employer cannot accuse any of us of doing that without any proof at all. Also, could she write us up for any of that considering there are no no smoking signs up anywhere, and no cameras?


Is it hypocritical for someone to be against smoking and drinking yet own a place that sells those things?
Obvioulsy there are cultures that are against smoking and drinking. Isnt it a bit hypocritical for members of those cultures to own a place (bars, gas stations, restaurants, etc) that sells alcohol and tobacco products?

I was having this conversation with someone who is totally against smoking and drinking yet he still owns many bars and convenience stores. He looked at me like i was crazy when i called him a hypocrite.

Should they work/own in a place that is not against their beliefs?


With the new smoking bans in place should the law be tougher on parents smoking in the house or car with kids?
I have seen a parent smoking in the care with a child known to have a history of asthma. Who are they accountable to. Who speaks for the children? What is the law in relation to this?
